Some days I think it would be so cool to be a reality TV star. I don't think I'd be a particularly interesting one, but I'm a huge over-sharer, so that life would be perfect for me. Getting paid to do nothing extraordinary while people film you? Sign me up!
But then I see these stars getting shamed on social media for the craziest things and I think to myself, "It's not worth it." I don't think I'd be able to handle the criticism from complete strangers making assumptions about my life!
Zach and Tori Roloff, who star on Little People, Big World, know all about the shaming that comes with fame, and unfortunately they were hit with another dose of it recently.
Zach and Tori love to share photos of their son Jackson on Instagram, but one photo in particular had people calling out Zach for endangering his little boy.
The photo in question featured Jackson sitting by the water, seemingly unattended.
Fans were furious that the new parents would let their toddler sit so close to the water.
"That picture of the baby is to close to the water, I'm sorry but that is irresponsible!" one fan wrote.
"Oh wow!! Scary a lil," said another.
"Kind of too close to the water for that baby by himself," one person wrote.
"I hope someone was closer by," someone else echoed.
But people were quick to jump to Zach's defense.
"OMG the baby is 2 feet away from his parents OH NO! PANIC!!! [Shake my head] Stop the lame comments. This kid is fine."
"Oh, come on!!" one person wrote. "I'm sure they woke up and thought, 'Oh, let's go and set Jackson up by the water, sit back, and see what happens today.' He is fine!! They could be on him before he turns a knee to the ground."
Others pointed out that Jackson has just learned to walk, so the odds of him being able to get far on those rocks are slim to none. Plus, the water is calm and it's almost guaranteed mom and dad are no more than a few feet away from him while the picture is being taken.
It's not the first time the parents have been accused of "endangering" Jackson, either. The couple often posts photos of Jackson with his dad around the farm, and fans quickly jump to conclusions that the baby is in danger.
Tori, who usually doesn't respond to the haters, added a disclaimer to a photo of Zach and Jackson on a lawnmower.
"GUYS. THE MOWER WASN'T ON."
She also added a message to a picture of Jackson and Zach on a tractor, saying "Before I get ripped apart in the comments please take into consideration my husband and I would never put baby j in harms way. Kthanksenjoy."
For the most part, fans are ready to defend Zach and Tori against the haters, but it's hard to imagine how tiring it would be to deal with this all the time!
