Birthstones, birth flowers, zodiacs, it's stuff we've all heard about. I know that as a June baby, I'm a Gemini, my birthstone is alexandrite (or pearl) and that my birth flower is a rose. It's all pretty basic stuff, and after a while you start to get bored of hearing the same stuff over and over and over.
That's why birth foods are so important. Never heard of birth foods? No problem! These foods you can eat during your entire birth month and no one is allowed to judge the quantity you consume! Okay, so maybe I just made that up. But you can use that excuse if you want! I know I will be. It's the same theory as birthday cake has no calories. It's science (sorta).
Take a look and see what you'll be dining on during your birthday month! Please note: this does not include desserts. Birth desserts are a totally different thing.
January - Chicken Pot Pie
I won't lie to you, I'm a little bit jealous about this one. Chicken pot pie is an American classic and we all would be blessed to have this as our birth month food. Chicken pot pie represents warmth and heartiness, which is exactly what you need in January.
The best part about chicken pot pie is that there are many ways you can eat it, including cupcakes!
February - Spaghetti and Meatballs
A delicious and easy meal for a month that feels like it takes forever. There's also nothing more romantic than recreating that iconic scene from Lady and the Tramp, so spaghetti and meatballs makes sense.
March -Tacos 🌮🌮
March is the third month of the year, and Tuesday is the third day of the week (because the week starts on Sunday unless you're weird) so basically, March is a perpetual Taco Tuesday. The best part about tacos is that you can change them up however you want. Hard tacos? Soft tacos? Chicken? Beef? BOTH? Totally your call.
You can even make dessert tacos, so you're basically winning all month long.
April - Brussels Sprouts
APRIL FOOLS!! You really got grilled cheese, which is infinitely better! It can be for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and also for a midnight snack. Adding bacon is an option, even pulled pork works well!
May - French Fries
Unlimited french fries with no judgement? Sounds like my ideal Friday night. As summer starts to creep closer, we're all worrying about our "beach body" until we inevitably cave and indulge on anything around us. Lucky for May babies, that can be french fries for you and it's totally legit.
June - Garlic Bread
THIS IS MINE AND I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!! Garlic bread fills a hole in my heart caused by many years of attempting low-carb diets. After a while, I just learned to accept my bread-loving life.
July - Chicken Nuggets
Nuggets are the ultimate summertime food because they're easy to eat and also easy to transport to the beach, on a road trip, etc. The thing with nuggets, though, is that it's hard to make them anything more than they are. A nugget is a nugget. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but it's just a fact.
August - Pizza ðŸ•ðŸ•ðŸ•
To say August babies hit the jackpot is an understatement. Potentially the most versatile food in the world, it's literally impossible to get tired of pizza! August tends to be a busy month as people are getting ready for back-to-school season, so pizza is an easy solution.
Here are three different dessert pizzas proving you really can have it all.
September -Shepherd's Pie
Who doesn't love a good shepherd's pie? September is a weird month because it feels like there's something to do every night but none of them involve someone making you dinner. Shepherd's pie lets September babies stay satisfied all month while also enjoying the goodness that is mashed potatoes and ground beef.
October - Chili
October is when those cooler temperatures start to roll in and you just want to stay indoors wrapped under a blanket. Chili is the food version of being wrapped in a blanket. The meat, the beans, the sauce, the cheese...it's perfection.
November - Buffalo Wings
I know what you're thinking. Shouldn't November be something about Thanksgiving? The answer is no. Buffalo wings are better, though I can't really explain why. Thanksgiving is for everyone, not just November babies (don't be greedy).
December - Steak
Best for last? Potentially. Steak screams luxury, and that's what December babies deserve after a long year waiting for their birthday! Steak can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and it's perfectly delicious just on its own.
