If you were hoping for Wendy Williams to ask "How you doin" on January 21, you've set yourself up for disappointment.

According to a new update, the talk show host won't be returning to the The Wendy Williams Show this week , due to health complications brought on by Graves' disease.

Even though Williams has been dealing with the autoimmune condition for over 19 years, fans only started to notice when she fainted on live TV during her 2017 Halloween episode.

A few months later, the controversial TV personality missed a few days of taping after she developed "flu-like symptoms."

It wasn't until she returned to the show weeks later that she finally revealed that her failing health was result of Graves' disease.

Also known as toxic goiter, the condition affects the function of the thyroid. It is the most common cause of hyperthyroidism, which is described by the American Thyroid Association as "a generalized overactivity of the entire thyroid gland."

The disease, which affects 1 in 200 people, is often characterized by the shape of a patient's eyes, which usually appear to be bulging. "I often feel like birds are swimming around my head. Like constantly high, but not high," Williams explained on the show last year.

After making a comeback, Williams said that she was feeling a "hundred percent better," and would be taking much better care of herself from then on.

But nearly a year later, the host is once again forced to step away from the purple chair after experiencing more complications that require treatment.

"Wendy will be under the strict supervision of her physicians, and as part of her care, there will be significant time spent in the hospital," read a statement from Wiliams' family. "Despite her strong desire to return, she is taking a necessary, extended break from her show to focus on her personal and physical well-being. Wendy thanks everyone in advance for their well-wishes and for respecting her and The Hunter Family's privacy during this time."

The 54-year-old was already on a four-week hiatus, partly because of a shoulder injury, when this latest announcement was made on social media.

For now, it's unclear when the host will return, but fans will get a chance to enjoy re-runs this week before temporary hosts step for the week of January 28th.

We're wishing Williams a speedy recovery!
