Summer is around the corner, and there's no better way to welcome the season than with an ice-cold lemonade.
While the hot day staple does not need much improvement, it never hurts to switch things up and make the drink a bit more exciting than what you get from the neighborhood lemonade stand.
To make things easy for you, Applebee's Grill & Bar has added vodka raspberry lemonade to its lineup of drinks this month. They've declared it "the official drink to kick off summer."
Throughout June, you can enjoy the 10-ounce cocktail, which is made with Tropicana lemonade, raspberry, fresh lemon juice and vodka.
The best part? You can you treat yourself to a glass for only $1!
"Our guests always enjoy a refreshing vodka and lemonade cocktail, and we’re delighted to add raspberry to the lineup for the first time," vice president of beverage innovation Patrick Kirk said in a statement. "The $1 Vodka Raspberry Lemonade is sunshine in a glass and light on your wallet—put that extra money toward your summer vacation."
Applebee's first hinted at the new addition to the drink menu on May 30, when they shared a photo of a picnic spread with raspberries and lemon slices on Instagram.
"Hmmm.... something's missing from this scene. Must be the June Neighborhood Drink of the Month!" the restaurant chain wrote in the caption.
Based on the photo hint, many fans were able to guess that the flavor of the month was going to be raspberry lemonade.
"Vodka Strawberry Lemonade I am guessing ??" wrote one fan. "Whatever, it will be another favorite!"
Despite the excitement, there were some who expressed sadness over the exit of the one dollar margaritas, a.k.a. Dollaritas, which Applebee's served all May long.
The good news for the margarita lovers is that Applebee's' "Neighborhood Drink of the Month" promotion changes every month, so there's a high chance that the drink will make a return soon.
In addition to Dollaritas, the chain has mixed up Mardi Gras-themes cocktails February, Absolut Rainbow Punch and strawberry-flavored margaritas so far this year.
As always, you have to be 21 or older to take advantage of this boozy deal, and remember to drink responsibly.
If you're wondering what to pair the cheap drinks with, Applebee's recently introduced Loaded Fajitas to their menu. The Mexican-inspired dish is served with your choice of chicken, sirloin steak or grilled shrimp.
