There are so many books out there, but so little time, which is why I'm here to let you know about some amazing books that you may not have gotten your hands on just yet.
What's great is that they're all decently priced on Amazon now, so they make for the perfect gift for a friend, family member, or even yourself!
Here are eight little-known gems that everyone needs to read.
1. The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah
If you liked Kristin Hannah's popular books Firefly Lane, The Nightingale, and Night Road, you're going to love this one.
Set in 1974 Alaska,The Great Alone tells the story of the Allbright family who impulsively go off the grid and try to make a living in the great north.
This novel will put you on a roller coaster of emotions, which is basically code for "you won't be putting this book down until you're finished."
Get your copy for $18, or get it on Kindle for only $10.
2. On The Lam by August J. Esquire
If you love books about travel and books that make you laugh, you're going to love On The Lam.
It's a funny, well-written, and easy read that will take you to some of the most interesting parts of the world.
It's basically a compilation of five entertaining stories of what could go wrong (and did go wrong) while traveling.
The author gives you tips on to handle those situations and other things you may encounter while traveling. So, it's informative, but hilarious at the same time.
Get your copy for $9, or get it on Kindle for only $4.
3. Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
You know when you love a book so much that you can't formulate words to describe just how perfect it is? Homegoing is that book for me.
This book tells the story of two half-sisters who are born into different villages in eighteenth-century Ghana.
What's interesting about this novel is that each chapter tells the story of the next generation of that family line, which traces three hundred years.
We get to see how historical forces beyond their control shape the fate of each character.

4. The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson
Mark Manson's self-help guide to living your best life sold millions of copies, so it's not an unexpectedly good book, but the book title for many may be a deterrent.
Before you scroll along, hear me out. This book is amazing because it defies all your expectations of a self-help book.
Manson doesn't sugarcoat life. Life is what it is. Trying to stay positive all the time isn't working, am I right?
This book is what everyone needs to understand what's truly important in life. And another thing I loved about it was that it made me laugh, which is a good start to happiness.

5. 11/22/63 by Stephen King
The award-winning author has published dozens of books and short stories, so if you've been wanting to give his books a try, it can be hard to pick out just the one you want to read.
11/22/63 was the first novel I read by King because I heard it's much different than his other books. It's a quasi-historical, philosophical, and science fiction love story (there's no horror, woohoo!).
In short, it's about a man trying to prevent the Kennedy assassination.
King keeps the reader guessing from the first page to the very last, and you learn a lot about history along the way.
Get the book on Amazon for $16, or for $6 on Kindle.
6. Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life From Dear Sugar by Cheryl Strayed
Dear Sugar,
This book is the perfect gift to give yourself or someone who needs some direction in life (which is basically all of us).
Cheryl Strayed, who wrote the bestselling memoir Wild, was once an anonymous online columnist at The Rumpus.
Thousands of people mustered up the courage to ask for her advice, and judging by how well-crafted Strayed's responses were, I think they got just what they were looking for.
This book is a 10 out of 10 and you'll definitely want your own copy because you'll be rereading this book dozens of times.
Right now, get it on Amazon for only $7.
7. Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover
If you loved The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, you've got to read Educated.
It's a memoir of a young girl who was kept out of school by her survivalist family, but will stop at nothing to achieve her academic dreams.
What fascinated about me about this book is that you really get to see the ugly side of a survivalist family and the extent they'll go to stay off the radar.
I couldn't put this book down, and will definitely be reading it again.
You can purchase Westover's book for $17, or get it on Kindle for only $8.
8. Flight Of Dreams by Ariel Lawhon
Historical fiction is usually my least favorite genre, but Flight of Dreams still managed to become one of my favorite books.
The reason why is because I was always curious by what actually caused the explosion of the Hindenburg, the blimp that exploded in 1937, killing everyone on board.
Lawhon provides one possible scenario of what could have happened, and it's enthralling.
This book is also mysterious, captivating, and descriptive, which makes it extremely hard to put down.
Get your copy from Amazon for only $12, or get it on Kindle for $13.
