A woman in Sydney, Australia was looking out at her backyard one day when she noticed two little kittens hanging out under a bush.
The little twins had pretty orange and white coats and they appeared to be brothers. When she walked closer with some food, she realized that there was something very special about these tiny boys.
She guessed that the kitties were about three weeks old and when scooped one up, realized that he had an abnormality in his eyes. After looking closely at his brother, she knew they needed to go to the vet immediately.
As it turns out, both kittens needed considerable medical care. It would be too expensive for their rescuer to afford on her own, so she petitioned several local rescues for help.
Just when it seemed like no one would come to their aid, Inner City Strays offered to provide the medical care they desperately needed.
Diana Dammery, from Inner City Strays, could not refuse these sweet little boys. She knew that they would require plenty of medical care, since they had both been born with deformed eyelids and a condition where their eyelashes turned inwards, rubbing on their pupils.
The rescue center decided to name them Isaac and Stevie. The two ginger brothers had a very successful first vet visit, where they were so brave.

The vet discovered that little Isaac had ulcers on his eyes and Stevie was completely blind. Besides the trouble with their vision, they were healthy and very energetic.
Since they were at a high risk for infection, the brothers would require eye surgeries. Their blind eyes were removed and doctors at SASH and Balmain Verterinary Hospital reconstructed an eyelid to protect Isaac's good eye.
Since Stevie is completely blind, Isaac is never to far from his brother. If Stevie gets disorientated, he cries out for Isaac who comes running to the rescue.
The two brothers refused to be separated from one another and eventually they were adopted by a loving couple.

When people see the boys playing together, it's hard to believe that they're blind! But cats have stronger senses then their sight and these two have honed their ability to "see" through their other senses.
Their new humans fell madly in love with the cheeky little brothers, providing them with plenty of TLC and new names. They're now called Buddha and Mogwai.
It's been a year since the ginger boys were rescued and they're handsome as ever - just look how dashing they are!
It's thanks to the good work of animal lovers and rescue organizations like Inner City Strays that sweet kittens like Mogwai and Buddah can have the lives they deserve.
