President Trumps Meets Queen Elizabeth, Switches Up His Handshake

Two of the world's most important leaders finally met today at Windsor Castle in England. President Donald Trump and his wife Melania were guests of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, after over a year of speculation wondering if the visit would actually take place.

There were talks that the Queen had declined a meeting with President Trump, especially after it was revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle declined to invite the current president and his wife to their wedding.

However, the meeting did take place, and the Trumps were welcomed by Her Majesty at the Quadrangle of the castle.

Many wondered how the first meeting would go down, as President Trump often prefers to "take charge" when it comes to handshakes. He is known for his aggressive, powerful handshake in order to assert dominance over whoever he is meeting. However, you can't just go and vigorously shake the hand of the Queen of England. Luckily, he changed things up.

President Trump daintily shook the hand of the monarch, while Melania was all smiles next to him until it was her turn.

The three of them then stood side by side while the United States national anthem played.

Previously in the week, President Trump only had kind words for Her Majesty.

"She is a tremendous woman. I really look forward to meeting her. I think she represents her country so well," he said. "If you think of it, for so many years she has represented her country, she has really never made a mistake. You don't see, like, anything embarrassing. She is just an incredible woman."

As for what was on the agenda for Her Majesty and the Trumps, all that we know for sure is they were going to have tea. They trio posed inside the castle for a photo before heading off.

There's no word as to whether or not the Trumps met any other royals while on the grounds, but according to Meghan Markle's father, Prince Harry was hesitant on Trump becoming president.

"I've always have a bad attitude about Donald Trump and that's never going to change," Thomas Markle said. "My God, I've got to apologize to the rest of the world for my president. All Harry actually did was say because Trump was new, he said: "˜Give him a chance.' I think Harry has probably changed his mind by now "“ I certainly hope he has."

One thing is for sure, though. If Prince Harry did meet President Trump, it was all civil. After all, the royal family knows all about dealing with people they don't like.
