Justin Trudeau's Eyebrows Appear To Fall Off During Interview

Twitter

Let's start this off by saying, YES, I know there are more important things that happened at the G7 summit than what I'm about to talk about. That being said, this is still wild.

As a Canadian, I'll admit that I'm pretty content with what our prime minister, Justin Trudeau, has managed to do. He's not perfect, but he's also not making headlines with controversy after controversy. Overall, he's pretty tame.

But that doesn't mean his eyebrows are.

During a live interview at the G7 summit in Canada, where he became the victim of a Trump twitter attack calling him "very dishonest and weak," it appeared as though one of Trudeau's "fake" eyebrows was falling off his face.

BNL News tweeted out a clip of the interview, and it immediately went viral.

Trump supporters took this as an opportunity to mock the Canadian leader.

It looks pretty damning, right? Those fuzzy little caterpillars certainly seem to be trying to break free from face prison. But is everything what it seems?

Another clip of the same interview from Ishmael N. Daro, a journalist with Buzzfeed News, shows that we can't always believe what we see.

"I can't believe this has to be said, but Justin Trudeau obviously didn't have a "fake eyebrow" falling off during his press conference with Emmanuel Macron," Daro said. "It's a trick of the light. When looking down, the shadow makes his left brow look weird. When looking up, it looks normal[.]"

Sean Craig also pointed out that Trudeau's eyebrows just grow a little differently.

"While a fake eyebrow scandal would rule, the photographic record shows Justin Trudeau's left eyebrow grows thicker on the bottom along the supraorbital ridge. A streak of thinner hair parts upward closer to the glabella. This is why it can look like a fake eyebrow is falling off."

These logical explanations didn't stop Mike Huckabee from chiming in on the situation, because apparently that was important for him to do.

Other people made a joke of the whole thing, which is pretty fair.

Trudeau hasn't responded to any of the fake eyebrow noise, but he has made it clear that despite the comments from Trump, Canada won't be bowing down to him.

The president will continue to say what he says. I have made it clear to the president that [imposing retaliatory tariffs] is not something we relish doing, but it's something that we absolutely will do. Canadians ... stood shoulder to shoulder with American soldiers in far off lands in conflicts from the First World War onward. It's kind of insulting. Canadians, we're polite, we're reasonable, but we also will not be pushed around.

You tell him, JT.

Do you think Trudeau's eyebrows started falling off? Or is this all a distraction to take away from the bigger picture of what happened at the summit?
