Mí¶tley Crí¼e drummer Tommy Lee is no stranger to being in the headlines, but it's not always about his music.
A controversial figure, to say the least, Tommy has been involved in a number of legal troubles, including serving a six-month prison sentence in 1998 after pleading no contest to abusing his then-wife, actress and model Pamela Anderson, whom he married in 1995, four days after they met.
According to reports, Lee assaulted Pamela and left her with "bruises, a torn fingernail, and fear for the safety of her two sons, Dylan and Brandon."
The dysfunctional couple got divorced in 1998, but briefly got back together after Tommy was released from jail, before parting ways once again in 2001.
While Pamela moved on to better things, Tommy's violent streak continued to get in his way. They made up again in 2008 for the sake of their children, but that did not last long either.
He was arrested for assault on multiple occasions, including at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards when he got into a fight with singer Kid Rock.
It's been over a decade since that incident took place, and Tommy seemed to have been staying out of trouble, until now.
It seems like the rocker isn't the only Lee with a violent side. According to People, police was called to Tommy's house in Calabasas after he was knocked unconscious by his oldest son, Brandon.
"My fiancé and I were in bed when my son busted into the room and assaulted me. I asked him to leave the house and he knocked me unconscious. He ran away from the police. THAT'S the truth," Tommy tweeted.
He later took to Instagram to share a photo of his busted lip. He captioned it with: "My heart is broken. You can give your kids everything they could ever want in their entire lives and they can still turn against you."
However, 21-year-old Brandon's side of the story is very different from his father's.
Brandon's statement
Brandon released a statement addressing the situation after he felt "forced to speak out" and reveal the truth after Tommy's allegations.
He explained that the drama happened after an attempt at " an intervention" for his father's alcohol addiction went wrong.
"I'm devastated at the events of the last several days that have been a result of my father's alcoholism. I've worked tirelessly organizing an intervention and it's incredibly upsetting that it never came to fruition. I wanted my dad's hopeful sobriety and recovery to be a private family matter but, as a result of his accusations on social media, I feel forced to speak out," read the statement.
The model added that he "will continue to cooperate with law enforcement as need. I love my father and just want to see him sober, happy and healthy."
Tommy responded to Brandon's statement on Twitter, calling it a lie before announcing that he is quitting social media.
"LMAAAO!!!! I'm happier than I've been in my entire life," wrote Tommy. "I have a few drinks here & there because I'm fuckin' retired and enjoying my life. I worked 30+ fuckin' years I deserve it. You didn't arrange any intervention, you barely spoke to me while u were here. Just coverin ur ass!! See ya later social media! Can't read anymore liesss."
They usually say that there are two sides to a story, but in this case, it isn't just Tommy and Brandon that are speaking out.
Two other sides
The musician's fiancee, Brittany Furlan, was the one who called 911 and in the recording she mentioned that Brandon has guns in his room and that's why she's freaked out.
When she was asked why the fight happened, she said: "[Brandon's] mom "” [Tommy] got mad and posted some ugly photos of her."
According to TMZ, after Pamela's name was brought up in the feud, she sided with her son, confirming that Brandon was indeed planning an intervention with "friends and people Tommy works with and admired."
She said Tommy is "consistently the center of sadness, drama and confusion, jealous of his sons' talent and beauty from the day they were born. He is sick. The definition of narcissist/sociopath."
The Baywatch star also told the celebrity news website that Tommy is an alcoholic who is still guilt-ridden for abusing her.
"He still cannot handle the guilt about his abusive behavior and has never taken responsibility for what he has done," said Pamela. "He [Brandon] punched him in the nose for all of us who he has hurt. Now Tommy feels humiliated - and is attempting to destroy his own son. This is the Devil - This is the disease of alcoholism."
No arrests have been made, but the investigation is still underway as new details from different sides continue to emerge.
As for Tommy, he is reportedly considering a restraining order against Brandon after he refused to apologize.
