<div><p>There's good news for those who have been affected by Alzheimer's disease. A new treatment from Australia has come up with a non-invasive technique that can fully restore memory function. </p><p>The treatment uses an ultrasound to clear the brain of neurotoxic amyloid plaques, which are responsible for memory loss and the decline in cognitive function. The waves that are used in the ultrasound helps stimulate the brain's microglial cells, which are responsible for clearing out the toxic plaques which are responsible for deteriorating brain function. </p><div><figure><amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/03/alzheimer_brain.jpg" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img><figcaption class="op-vertical-center"><cite>Alzheimer's Association </cite></figcaption></figure></div><p><!-- [invalid-shortcode] --></p><p>When tested on mice, 75% of the subjects regained 100% of their brain function with zero damage to the surrounding brain tissue. They were able to complete three memory-oriented tasks including a maze, object recognition, and remembering places they should avoid. </p><p>"We're extremely excited by this innovation of treating Alzheimer's without using drug therapeutics," one of the team, Jí¼rgen Gí¶tz, <a href="http://www.futuretimeline.net/blog/2015/03/14-2.htm#.VQj_v1OUdjG">said in a press release</a>.
