Antonio Rodrigues Mororó decided to take action when he found out that his pregnant wife was afraid to enter the house.

Apparently, a wild animal was sitting by the entrance and had threatened her. Mororó walked over to what he thought was an opossum and slapped it on the back.

Instead of scarring the creature, he was stabbed 400 times in the hand.

It turns out that the animal guarding his front door was a porcupine who didn't take too kindly to being swatted away.

Mororó was rushed to the hospital where he received three shots of anesthetic, a tetanus jab and a course of antibiotics.
