Food is life. We all love eating, but the unfortunate reality is that you can't cook a meal without a serious drawback: doing the dishes.

If you've ever cooked in your life, you've almost certainly burnt a pan before. Maybe you didn't use enough oil, maybe you forgot about it, or maybe you did everything exactly the way you meant to. Either way you now have a chore ahead of you.

Cleaning a burnt pan isn't just annoying, it's actually dangerous to the pan. Too many times people use abrasive or harsh materials to clean a pan. This can damage it or remove non-stick linings. That can be potentially damaging to your health.

You don't need a lot of powerful chemicals or steel wool to clean your pans though. In fact you definitely already have what you need in your kitchen.

Here's how to do it.

Ingredients

1 cup of vinegar

2 tablespoons of baking soda

1 cup of water (ish)

A burnt stainless steel pan

A scourer, (sorry it can't be helped)

<amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/burnt-pan---brightside.jpg" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/burnt-pan---brightside_GH_content_550px.jpg 550w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/burnt-pan---brightside_GH_content_650px.jpg 650w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/burnt-pan---brightside_GH_content_750px.jpg 750w" sizes="89vw" title="Pans" alt="Pans" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>
Brightside

Directions

Fill the bottom of the pan with a layer of water.

Add the vinegar.

Bring the pan to a boil. It should be looking a bit cleaner already.

Remove the pan from the heat and add the baking soda. It's going to fizz up, be ready.

Empty the pan and clean as normal.

If there are any marks that didn't get cleaned this way just make a paste with the baking soda and water. Leave for a little while and come back later. It should be gone with a few wipes.

There you have it! Now you don't have to be afraid next time you burn up a pan.

[Source: Apartment Therapy]
