<div><p>Most people know that sex and health go hand in hand, but are you having enough to be happy? </p><p>A recent study has shown that you don't necessarily have to have sex more often to be happy. </p><p>Research published in <a href="http://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/1948550615616462">Social Psychological and Personality Science</a> shows that in order to maximize happiness, it is "optimal" to have sex once per week. </p><p></p><amp-iframe sandbox="allow-scripts allow-same-origin" layout="responsive" frameborder="0" height="9" width="16" src="https://players.brightcove.net/293884104/SJa0Thl7_default/index.html?videoId=5356174814001"></amp-iframe><p>Sex is <a href="http://time.com/4692326/how-much-sex-is-healthy-in-a-relationship/">associated with feeling more satisfied</a> in a relationship," according to researcher Amy Muise, assistant psychology professor at Toronto's York University. </p><p>Surprisingly enough, a couple's happiness is not further increased the more times they have sex per week- but it can't hurt. </p><p></p><p>A recent study revealed that United States couples are actually having less sex now, than they did in the 1990's and 2000's. </p><p>Jean Tenge, a San Diego State University psychology professor co-authored a study, that points out that sexual frequency declines with age. </p><div><figure><amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/03/article-0-174FB334000005DC-970_634x418.jpg" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/03/article-0-174FB334000005DC-970_634x418_GH_content_550px.jpg 550w" sizes="89vw" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img><figcaption class="op-vertical-center"><cite>Daily Mail</cite></figcaption></figure></div><p>"<a href="http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/sex-frequency-study-us-1.4026067">Our entertainment is more entertaining</a>, and more on-demand than it once was," she said. "There are a lot more things to do at 10 p.m. at home than there used to be."</p><p><!-- [invalid-shortcode] --></p><p></p><p>The study also found that the number of hours people worked, did not have an impact on sexual frequency, nor did education or race.
