When little Silas was found on the side of the road in Florida, his rescuers knew they had their work cut out for them.
Silas was struggling to stay alive, covered in ants and infected in his eyes and lungs. He was dehydrated, malnourished, and waiting to die.
After a trip to the vet and some well-needed love, Silas was ready to be adopted out to a family who could care for him.
The Pence family took in Silas and nursed him right back to health.
"He got better quickly and he just is the sweetest cat in the world," They said. "He's a Ragdoll mix and when you hold him he kind of goes limp." They added "He acts like a dog, follows you everywhere, greets you at the door."
"He is a beautiful cat but it's his personality," the family said. "It's almost like he's thankful [to be alive]."
The Pence family also adopted a cat named Lincoln, and Silas and he have become best friends.
What a fluffy and wonderful transformation!
