<div><p>It was already dark when a truck pulled up to an animal shelter and two men pulled something out and tried to walk away. Someone from the shelter had spotted them and ran out to ask them what they were doing. The explanation he received sent a chill up his spine. </p><p>He recalled what the men said, "The factory was shutting down. They could no longer care for 'her'. The shapeless shadow that they needed to get rid of. The shelter volunteer couldn't believe what he was seeing. He said that she "was no longer a dog in the sense we use it." </p><p>She was so emaciated and sick that she hardly looked like she could stand. "She was a naked skeleton of purple color with some fur here and there. The rabid smell of mange could be touched in the air around her.
