You may not have paid too much attention to it, but 2017 is the year of nostalgic breakfast favorites getting turned into dessert. Back in April, we told you about Burger King's Froot Loops flavored milkshake and not too longer after the fast food chain introduced their Lucky Charms milkshake.

Now, the company behind some of the nation's most popular cereals is joining the breakfast-turned-dessert food revolution. The genius product developers at General Mills have been working hard so you can soon start your morning routine or end your day on a sweeter note with their newest treat.

One of the company's most popular cereals, Cinnamon Toast Crunch has been a breakfast staple in households across America since its introduction in 1984, and for the first time in 33 years the sweet cinnamon sugar coated squares are being turned into another popular snack - donuts!

Along with the company's announcement on July 10, popular trendy food-spotter Candy Hunting posted the exciting news on their Instagram page and there's no doubt the donuts will be a hit.

According to General Mills, the company will be releasing a variety of new products this summer and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bites is among them. The soft bite-sized donut holes are loaded with a sweet cinnamon filling and coated in cinnamon sugar.

You'll be able to purchase the bites in in the freezer aisle of grocery stores nationwide in two formats: an 18-count box ($4) and a 30-count ($6). Simply heat them up in the microwave for 30 seconds for a warm and gooey childhood-inspired treat.

Shipment is expected to start on Monday, July 17 so you will be available to find the bites in your preferred grocery store by the end of the month.

The Cinnamon Toast Crunch bites are only available in the original flavor, but General Mills has added other flavors to the cereal's lineup. Next time you're in the breakfast aisle watch out for French Toast Crunch, Apple Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Strawberry Toast Crunch, and Blueberry Toast Crunch.
