During last week's Creative Arts Emmy Awards, singer-songwriter, pianist, actor, husband, and father-of-two John Legend (born John Roger Stephens) lived up to his pseudonym when he won the coveted trophy for producing the NBC live musical Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert.
With this win, the 39-year-old made history by being the second youngest person to snag all four of entertainment industry's biggest awards: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. He also became the first African-American man to reach EGOT status.
Legend has won 10 Grammys, a Tony for co-producing Jitney, and an Oscar for the original song "Glory," which was featured in the film Selma.
Legend's fans have barely had time to take a breather after his incredible achievement, and he's already stirring excitement with his newest gig.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that the "All of Me" singer will be serving as a coach on the hit singing competition The Voice.
"I'm thrilled to join the coaches of "˜The Voice,'" Legend said in a statement. "I've been a guest and mentor on the show multiple times and I'm so excited to discover talented singers and help them make the most of their gift. I hope the world is ready for #TeamJL."
Legend will be sitting alongside the show's returning judges Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and Adam Levine.
He will be replacing American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson, who joined the show in Season 13, but we won't see him on our screens until next spring when Season 16 premieres.
"John Legend is a one-of-a-kind musician and producer with remarkable skills that are beyond measure," said Paul Telegdy, president of the alternative and reality group at NBC. "His multidimensional career and incredible talents provide a repertoire that will excite and inspire our artists. This coaching panel is sure to ignite season 16."
For fans of Hudson, she isn't giving up her spot just yet. The "Spotlight" singer is part of the upcoming season 15, which debuts on September 24.
As with any change, Legend joining the show could shift the dynamic a bit, especially since Clarkson and Hudson have such a great chemistry together. But it's not his first time on the show, so we're sure he has a lot to offer.
