A police officer outside of the UK Parliament in London, England was stabbed by a man in what police are treating as a terrorist incident. There are reports of more injuries; no deaths have been reported.
A car drove towards Parliament, hitting pedestrians before colliding with a fence. The driver then ran from his vehicle attempting to gain access to the House of Commons, where he stabbed a police officer.
Police opened fire on the knife-wielding assailant and have confirmed that he was taken to hospital.
Both the officer and the assailant appear to be in serious condition.
Air ambulances have been dispatched to transport those wounded to hospital. Parliament was in session at the time, members are under lockdown and have been told to stay away from windows.
March 22 marked the 1 year anniversary of the deadly attack in Brussels that killed 32 people.
