For the past nine years, we've followed the cast of MTV's Teen Mom on their parenting journey and we can't help but feel like a part of their family.
From Amber's stint in prison to Farrah's feud with her mother, we've seen all of the ups and downs of our favorite reality stars.
However, Catelynn Baltierra has been a longtime fan favorite, and despite the 26-year-old's difficult year, we've all been rooting for her.
Her story differentiated from the other moms on 16 and Pregnant, as she was the only teenager who decided to give her daughter Carly up for adoption.
The subsequent seasons have shown Catelynn and her husband Tyler have become public speakers, written a book, and welcomed their second daughter, Novalee, into the world.
However, the couple's strides and achievements haven't curbed their fears over missing out on the pivotal moments in Carly's life. Catelynn and Tyler have an open adoption with Carly, which means they can see the nine-year-old once a year.
In a 2017 visit with their oldest daughter, the Baltierras brought Novalee along and were heartbroken to see the two sisters part ways at the end of the day.
"She was saying after raising Nova, she's actually feeling that love you have for your kid, and after seeing [Carly and Nova] together she said it was really hard [to leave Carly]. She said it just sucks "” it sucks that we were so young, and it sucks that our parents sucked. We were little kids," Tyler said.
But Catelynn's sadness isn't preventing her from being a vocal advocate for both teen mothers and adoption, and recently appeared on an upcoming episode of ABC's What Would You Do? with host John Quiñones.
She watched behind the scenes when a skit showed a pregnant teenager tell her baby's prospective adoptive parents she no longer wished to give her child away.
In front of the restaurant's unsuspecting customers, the actress said: "There's no good way for me to say this. I want to keep the baby," before being confronted by their incredulous reactions.
One patron tried to comfort the teenager, but told her: "At 16, it's hard to raise a child."
At the end of the segment, Catelynn spoke to the woman who gave the actress advice. "It's just so amazing. It honestly made me tear up. I'm getting all emotional," she expressed.
Although giving your child up for adoption is an exceptionally difficult decision to make, we know Catelynn made a good one!
