We shared news of Taco Bell's wildest creation to date, the Naked Chicken Taco, a few months ago. The boundary-pushing snack used a specially-shaped piece of fried chicken as a taco shell. Now, the restaurant has unveiled an even stranger twist on their invention designed to start your day off right.
The Naked Breakfast Taco is a portable breakfast that uses a fried egg as the taco's shell. You can load it with home fries, sausage, bacon and two types of cheese, if you're brave enough.
This isn't the first time Taco Bell tried to reinvent breakfast. In the past, they made taco shells from croissants, and even waffles.
I'll admit that their latest breakfast taco looks tasty, but it doesn't really seem designed to be eaten on the go. One person who got to sample these said that "it might be a little too messy for portable eating as any liquid/grease just spills out since the egg can't absorb it the way that bread can."
If you're worried about ruining your work clothes, you could try the Clothed version, which features an extra layer of Gordita flatbread wrapped around everything to keep your hands clean.
The one part of this meal you can't deny is the price. You can buy a Naked Breakfast taco with a coffee and hash browns or Cinnabon delights for just $3.99. Unfortunately, the taco will only be available for a limited test in Flint, Michigan, but it could be expanding to other locations soon.
