To the world, the late David Bowie was an iconic pop chameleon who revolutionized both the music and fashion scene, but to those closest to him, he was a friend, husband and father.
The legendary entertainer left behind a son, Duncan Zowie, and a daughter, Alexandria "Lexi" Zahra. Duncan, 46, has made a name for himself as a director, producer and film writer, but his half-sister Lexi, 17, has maintained a much lower profile throughout the years.
Since Bowie's death on January 10, 2016, his widow, supermodel Iman, has remained largely out of the limelight, except for a handful of times when she posted tributes to her late husband and photos of their daughter.
Now, over a year since Bowie's untimely death, Iman shared a rare photo of daughter on Instagram on the occasion of her 17th birthday.

"The Queen of my heart Lexi Jones at 17 years old!" Iman, 62, wrote in the photo's caption two days after her daughter's birthday.
The auburn-haired teen is pictured "smizing" for the camera wearing a white halter-top and a nose ring.
A few days before her mother's post, Bowie's Instagram page featured a special birthday message for Lexi.
"HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY TO LEXI 'You're only seventeen...' We're sure you will all want to join us in wishing many happy returns of the day to Alexandria Zahra Jones on her 17th birthday," the caption read. "Happy Birthday Lexi, here's wishing you a similarly bright future with love "˜n stuff from everybody here."
Aside from birthdays, Iman has also posted tributes celebrating some of her family's other special occasions on social media. Back in June, she shared a black and white photo of Bowie kissing her on the forehead to mark what would've been their 25th wedding anniversary.
"They really knew each other because they had come up and traveled in the same circles. They were great together," the couple's friend, Teddy Antolin, said about their relationship . "She was a real force and he needed a woman by his side to keep him focused."
The pair got married in 1992, but their daughter wasn't born till 2000.
