We've barely come down from the Halloween sugar high, but Starbucks wants us to start ushering in the holiday season already.
The coffee chain announced that their annual holiday cups will be making their much anticipated return to stores this week.
Starbucks has been keeping up with this tradition for 21 years, and have used the "red cups" to spread that Christmas feeling.
The company did drift away from the signature red hue a few years ago, but the backlash was enough for them to go offer more Christmas-esque designs since.
For the 2018 edition, Starbucks has unveiled four different designs. Two of them are in the their signature red, but the other two are green and white.
According to the press release, this season's retro designs were inspired by the brand's seasonal traditions and memories as well as the "nostalgic and joyful taste of the holiday season," a move that will hopefully help them avoid controversy.
Starbucks brought the classic red cup into the modern era by adding stripes in dark cranberry red, while the houndstooth-like cup was inspired by the Christmas Blend Espresso Roast.
They also "added doses of vintage colors and patterns, like mint green and argyle and reinterpreted them with graphic flair, and a dash glitter and shine." Finally, "a ribbon of black, white and Starbucks green on the back ties all the four cup designs and reappears in merchandise and store signage and displays."
If you were hoping for just a plain, solid red cup, there's still a chance to get your hands on one. If you're among the first 50 customers to order a holiday drink on Friday, November 2 at any participating store, you will receive a free limited-edition reusable holiday cup.
If you're a regular, just bring your reusable cup every time you visit from now until January 7, and get 50 cents off your drink order.
The chain's six popular holiday beverages - White Chocolate Mocha, Peppermint Mocha, Chestnut Praline, Caramel Brulee Latte, White Chocolate Mocha, Gingerbread Latte and Egg Nog Latter - will return to the menu.
A selection of new treats have also been added to the holiday food menu, including Chocolate Swirl Brioche, a buttery brioche layered with a dark "fudgy" chocolate filling, Pistachio Honey Croissant, and the Sugarplum Cheese Danish, made with croissant dough topped with creamy cheese filling and plum spread.
