After Simon Cowell fell down the stairs last week, he was rushed to the hospital. Fans have been worried about how he has been doing, especially because he hasn't returned to America's Got Talent yet.
The 58-year-old had fallen down the stairs while he was going to get a glass of hot milk. He was having issues sleeping so he warmed up the milk and when he was heading back to his room he fainted.
He said, "I'd gone to get some hot milk because I felt ropey. On the way back upstairs, I just remember feeling really dizzy. Next thing I know someone was putting a neck brace on me and I had a terrible headache, which must have been from me hitting the stairs. I was worried at first that I'd done some real damage."
Cowell was brought to the hospital for tests, which resulted in him taking some time off from his duties as a judge on America's Got Talent. His fellow judge, Sharon Osbourne, has given us an update on how he is doing and why he hasn't come back yet...
According to Sharon Osbourne, Cowell is "going to be okay," and that "he's doing so much better."
"His partner, Lauren, came down to [X Factor UK] on both nights, so she was there flying Simon's flag," Osbourne said. "She was just saying that he suffers from low blood pressure anyway," Osbourne said of Cowell's partner Lauren Silverman. "Because of the concussion, that's why he couldn't come back."
Cowell shared how his hospital scare was a bit of a wake up call for him. "Sometimes we get a reminder that we're not invincible and this was certainly mine. It was a huge shock," said Cowell, "They think I fainted because I had low blood pressure and so I have got to really take good care of myself to sort that out. After all I am a dad and have more responsibility than ever."
He continued, "I know I was very lucky I didn't hurt myself seriously. It could have been a lot worse. I must say, everyone at the hospital were incredible. I'm truly grateful."
