If you're a fan of the Chicago franchises, then you may want to brace yourself. Not one, not two, but three stars will be leaving the fictional world.
First of, there's Jon Seda, who first appeared as Antonio Dawson on Chicago Fire in the show's first season, and is now a mainstay on Chicago P.D. At one point, Seda had left Chicago P.D. to be a part of the short-lived Chicago Justice, but he returned the next season after the show's cancellation.
Seda is absolutely loved by the entire Chicago production team, and sources say that not only could he return to Chicago P.D. in the future, he could also appear in a different show produced by Dick Wolf if the fit was right. Until then, Seda will be taking some time to do his own thing. The actor took to Twitter to thank all the Chicago fans for their support.
"It's been an honor portraying Det. Antonio Dawson in the #OneChicago world," Seda wrote on Twitter. "To my cast #Family, I'll always treasure the time and stories we shared. To all you #chihards out there, THANK YOU for being the best of fans! We'll Always have CHICAGO."
The next character leaving will be from Chicago Med, as fans will have to deal with the departure of Connor Rhodes, played by Colin Donnell. Donnell has been on the show since it started in 2015, and has also guest starred on Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. Though Donnell didn't give an exact reason as to why he's leaving, he did confirm the news on his Twitter account.
"Sorry to say that this is true," Donnell began. "I love my family dearly. And a special thank you to all the fans that have made these last four seasons so amazing. It's been an honor to be a part of such a great trio of shows and in the @WolfEnt family. I know that there's great things coming for Season 5 and I can't wait to see what they are along with all you fans. xoxo C"
The final member of the Chicago family to be leaving is Norma Kuhling, who portrayed Dr. Ava Bekker on Chicago Med. Kuhling joined the show at the end of the second season, and has been a regular since then. Again, there were no reasons given as to why she's leaving the show, but Kuhling confirmed the news on Instagram.
"Thank you Chicago Med for two amazing years," Kuhling shared. "Really going to miss this family, but feeling nothing but gratitude. A huge thank you to NBC and Dick Wolf for bringing me on board, to the best cast and crew imaginable, and, finally, to the fans for making these shows what they are. Can't wait to cheer #OneChicago on in its future seasons with you!"
Those are three major characters to be leaving a big franchise, and although no real reasons have been given for their departures, sources say it's about "creative reasons related to the characters' story evolution."
Seeing these guys leave the franchise will be tough, especially since Monica Raymund just left one season ago. That being said, I think the show is strong enough to keep going strong.
