If you want to personalize your style but don't want to spend an arm and a leg buying all the expensive equipment, you will be happy to know you can screen print your own shirts with some hosiery and an embroidery hoop!
It's a super handy trick that will let you make custom prints on anything from t-shirts to bags, or really any type of fabric you can imagine!
Materials Needed:
- Embroidery hoop
- Hosiery
- Mod Podge
- Fabric paint
Directions:
Start by opening your hoop, then stretch a piece of hosiery across the embroidery hoop, and then screwing the hoops together.
Trim the excess of the hosiery off so it sits fairly flush along the edge.
Trace the image you want to draw onto your hoop using a sharpie.
Paint mod podge on any part of the hosiery that you don't want the paint to go. That way only the outline of the image is left. You don't have to go all the way to the edge, just be careful when you go to paint.
When it's dried on there, you can place your stencil onto the shirt, make sure its flat against it, then add fabric paint. Use a paintbrush to fill in the outline.
When you are done, peel off your stencil and let dry.
It's the perfect activity to do for kids parties, or for any kind of event! Save your money on getting screen printing done professionally, you can do it yourself and it is just as cute!
