'American Idol' Winner Scotty McCreery Says "I Do," Shares First Wedding Photo

Country singer Scotty McCreery won the hearts of America from the moment he auditioned for Simon Cowell and his fellow judges on the 10th season of American Idol.

He went on to win the competition, and has not slowed down since. That same year, he released his debut album, Clear as Day, performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the 85th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, sang the National Anthem at Game 1 of the World Series, and won the award for New Artist of the Year at the American Country Awards.

Since then, the North Carolina native has released three more albums, won more awards, and embarked on three headlining and two supporting tours with Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts.

But McCreery's career isn't the only aspect of his life that has been thriving. The 24-year-old musician proposed to his longtime girlfriend Gabi Dugal in 2017, and the pair have finally had their wedding.

McCreery and Dugal, also 24, first met in Kindergarten. They have remained friends for all those years, but started dating during their senior year of high school.

"We've been dating six years and have known each other our whole lives," McCreery told People. "That kind of story doesn't happen too often nowadays. I support her dreams and she supports mine."

He popped the question at the secluded Big Lost Cove Cliffs in North Carolina last September, and even wrote a song, "This is it," for the special occasion.

"I've been planning this moment for so long that it feels surreal for it to have finally happened," McCreery said. "Gabi is the perfect girl and my true love, and I cannot wait to begin building our life together as husband and wife."

People revealed that as a young girl, Dugal used to write "Mrs. Gabi McCreery" with a lot of hearts in her diary.

Now, after decades of fantasizing, Dugal's dream came true on June 16.

In front of 200 of their family and friends, the lovely couple finally tied the knot at Twickenham House & Hall.

The ceremony was officiated by the singer's childhood pastor, and it included the couple exchanging personalized vows before the rocking reception started.

The bride and groom shared their first dance to "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley, who is one of McCreery's biggest musical influences.

Guests were treated to a medley of Cajun dishes inspired by Dugal's Louisiana roots, steak and pasta. The couple opted to serve an assortment of pies instead of a wedding cake.

As for decor, Dugal, who works as a nurse at Duke University Hospital, told the publication that the wedding colors were black, white and gold.

"I went with greenery and white flowers, some lanterns and candle votives [for a] rustic feel," she explained. "We fell in love with the mountains during the summertime [when McCreery proposed], and our [venue] is like a little castle in the woods."

McCreery described it as "Very Beauty and the Beast!"

Now that the festivities are over, the couple will be be jetting off to Tahiti for their honeymoon.

"The one thing she [Dugal] really wanted was an over-water bungalow," said McCreery.

So what plans do they have for the near future? The couple will finally move in together!

"We haven't moved in together yet. I'm living with my guys and she's living with one of her best friends," McCreery explained. "I love my guys, but it'll be much nicer coming back from the road and seeing my wife instead of three motley dudes!"

Congratulations to the happy couple!
