A robbery took an ironic turn when a clumsy, 19-year-old Chicago crook allegedly fired off his weapon by accident.
19-year-old Terrion Pouncy accidentally shot himself in the penis after allegedly robbing a hot dog stand in Chicago's South Side neighborhood.
Assistant Cook County State's Attorney, Erin Antonietti, claimed that Pouncy held up Maxwell Street Express at gunpoint and demanded money from the stand's two employees.
He allegedly pressed the gun to the head of a 39-year-old worker as the victim had been passing a bucked filled with grease over the counter. He called over for his co-worker to hand over the cash.
As they passed their wallets and a stack of singles to the assailant, the bucket tipped and bills went flying.
Pouncy stooped to collect the cash, the gun that was tucked into his waistband shifted and and that's when things took a painful turn.
While stowing his firearm, Pouncy accidentally shot himself in the groin.
Injured, he tried to flee the scene but only made it to a nearby house before he collapsed.
Only a few blocks away from the store, he called 911 to say he had been shot.
Shortly after, he was taken to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, where he was arrested by police. Judge Stephanie Miller ordered him to be held without bail.
Police were able to recover the wallets and the .38 caliber gun.
The entire robbery was captured on surveillance footage, including the boxers that were seen at the scene when he bent over to pick up the cash. That evidence was recovered in hospital.
Pouncy now faces two felony counts of robbery while armed with a gun.
