It seems like the long-standing debate about whether or not pineapples belong on pizza isn't dying down anytime soon. We've already heard about Iceland's president, Gudni Thorlacius Johannesson, denouncing the sweet ingredient as a topping but what happens when restaurants start to take sides?
Arizona resident Ali, learned quickly that the pineapple-topped pizza haters take things very seriously. She ordered a pizza with pineapple from an on-campus restaurant but when it was delivered she noticed that the tropical fruit was missing. Wait, it gets better - the restaurant taped a $5 bill along with an apologetic note that read, "Couldn't bring myself to put pineapple on it. Thats gross. Sorry."

The whole situation could've easily taken a dark turn had Ali been a slightly more passionate pineapple pizza fan. However, she took it as a joke and phoned the pizzeria to let them know that though this was funny, she still wanted pineapples on her pie. "They said they'd be happy to compensate me with coupons, but I just let it slide," she told Thrillist. "The $5 was enough!"
She shared her experience on Twitter and basically refuelled the Pizza War.
