The highly anticipated royal announcement we had been expecting for months was finally revealed on November 27. Prince Harry and U.S. actress Meghan Markle are engaged!

The couple, who were quietly dating for about six months before it became news, met in Toronto, Canada. However, not everyone was supportive of their relationship, which forced the Palace and Harry to release a statement to address the racist comments.

Meghan, whose father is Caucasian and mother is African-American, has expressed pride in her heritage, and when she was a child she used to keep her hair in big, bountiful curls.

Now that this 36-year-old will be part of the Royal Family, we're all curious what this soon-to-be bride looked like in her younger years.

We don't know a lot about Meghan's childhood and teenage years because she was sheltered by her overprotective father, Thomas Markle, an award-winning Hollywood cinematographer.

While a couple of images from her teenage years have emerged online, we're all curious what she looked like as a schoolgirl.

So what did the newest member of the Royal Family look at the age of 11?

This photo was taken from Meghan's yearbook, when she was attending the private Hollywood Little Red Schoolhouse, before she attended an independent all-girls Catholic school in Los Angeles. She was in grade 6.
