The royal family has started the first full week of 2018 in the sweetest way. The youngest royal, Princess Charlotte, reached a milestone in her young life and her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, was there to capture it.
This was an important day for the pregnant Duchess who missed accompanying her son, Prince George, on his first day of school at Thomas's Battersea because she was dealing with severe morning sickness at the time.
Charlotte will be attending Willcocks Nursery school as a full-time student attending its Monday to Friday morning classes that encourage children to learn through play.
At the sought-after nursery school, the princess will enjoy pottery and poetry classes.
Her brother, Prince George, attended Westacre Montessori School in Norfolk in January 2016, since it was close to their then-home of Anmer Hall.
Now the photos of Charlotte's first day have been released and we can hardly believe our eyes.
The two-year-old, who is fourth in line for the throne, was photographed by her mother at Kensington Palace before making her way to Willcocks Nursery School for her first day.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share two photographs of Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace this morning. The images were taken by The Duchess shortly before Princess Charlotte left for her first day of nursery at the Willcocks Nursery School," the couple's Kensington Palace spokesman said.
In the two pictures released by Kensington Palace, Charlotte is seen wearing a red coat, with a pink scarf, and a matching red ribbon in her hair.
And her beaming smile is just adorable!
Kate, who is celebrating her 36th birthday this week, is an amateur photographer who has done away with many traditions and photographed key moments of her family's life herself.
This included taking the official photos of her newborn daughter in 2015.
She always marked other important milestones in her children's lives, including George's first day at nursery school and Charlotte's first birthday.
