Any recipe that's Asian-inspired will win the key to my heart. Every dish just seems to have the perfect balance of sweet and savory.
These Pork Dumplings are a treat that your whole family will love. These are super easy to make from scratch despite how beautiful and delicious the finished product is. Don't forget to serve alongside the Ponzu glaze for a meal to remember!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Chinese 5 spice
- 2 tablespoons green onion, finely sliced
- 1 package round wonton wrappers
- 2/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon sriracha
- 1 orange, zested and juiced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
Mix first 5 ingredients together, season, and set aside.
Mix soy sauce, sugar, sriracha and juice together in a saucepan over medium heat, and reduce to a loose glaze.
Lay wonton wrappers down and spoon 1 tablespoon of pork mixture into each wonton. Brush edges with water, fold and crimp edges closed.
Heat non-stick pan on medium high temperature. Add sesame oil to coat pan and add dumplings one at a time, bottom end first. Once all dumplings are added, add 1/2 cup of water, reduce heat to medium-low and cover for 3-4 minutes.
Remove sear-steamed dumplings from pan, put on a serving dish with Ponzu sauce and enjoy!
