Season 24 of Dancing With The Stars has just started and there are already big problems. One of the favorite dancers has been injured and needs surgery to correct a torn calf muscle.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy has been on the show for years, but when he got injured in rehearsal he was unable to go on. This season he is partnered up with former Glee star Heather Morris who had to go on with a professional stand-in.
He posted a picture to his Instagram of him in a hospital complete with IV in his hand with the caption "Gettin' un-broken..."
He doesn't know when he will be able to come back, but has shared a bunch of sweet posts dedicated to his dance partner, apologizing for missing their performance.
He says, "I'm so proud of @heatherrelizabethh for getting it done in an amazing fashion! I'm sorry I couldn't be next to you, but I promise to work harder than ever and get my ass back to the ballroom as soon as humanly possible! HUGE (but not that huge 😜) Thank You to @alanbersten for stepping in at the last second and doing a great job! And finally, to all our fans... I've said in the beginning of the season that I was back because of how supportive you've always been to me and I promise that this isn't the last you've seen of me. I will make every effort to make you proud yet... In the mean time PLEASE VOTE FOR #teamMaksimumHeat !!!"
While Chmerkovskiy is out recovering Alan Bersten will be filling in.
Hopefully he will have a speedy recovery and make it back before the end of the season!
