Steven Donovan was just trying to do his job, delivering pizzas on time and hopefully earning a few tips. While on route to his next stop, he came across something he wasn't expecting: A dog running through the streets.
"I was about to turn onto a major road and I saw him run across the street. I immediately turned around and went back. I couldn't just leave the dog out there."
He found the dog quickly and managed to get him to follow him into his car. The tag said his name was Snickers and he lived a couple miles away. He planned on bringing him home, but first he had to deliver the pizza.
"The dog was really chill. He didn't try and eat the pizza at all," Donovan said of his new little coworker.
Snickers waited patiently in the car while Donovan quickly delivered the pizza. He apologized for it being late, and said that they weren't annoyed at all, just thought it was really sweet.
They headed over to the address on the dog's tags even though Donovan was concerned that he would be in trouble for being late after the delivery, but the dog's safety was his main concern.
"I wouldn't mind getting fired over this. I mean, it's a dog running in the street. I had to help him."
Snickers recognized the neighborhood as soon as they got close to the address. He started getting excited and wagging his tail more and more the closer they got.
When he pulled in, he found out that Snicker's dad had recently moved and the tag was outdated. Luckily some neighbors knew how to get in touch with him and were going to bring him home. Donovan thinks that Snickers probably got out from his new home and got confused and tried to go to his old house. Moving is hard sometimes, he probably missed his friends!
Luckily Snickers found someone who took good care of him while he found his way home!
