As Hurricane Florence approaches the United States, more than 1 million people are evacuating the East Coast and heading to safer ground.

Now labelled a Category 4 hurricane and generating 140 mph winds, The Weather Channel expects it to hit the southeastern states as soon as Thursday or Friday.

The National Weather Service warned that Hurricane Florence, which is expected to be the most powerful storm to hit the region in the past 30 years, is most likely to be a "life-threatening storm surge" and have "life-threatening freshwater flooding" and "damaging hurricane-force winds."

The governors of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia have all called for a state of emergency for the impending hurricane, and are enforcing a mandatory evacuation for those living alongside the coast.

"We know that this evacuation order is going to be inconvenient for some people," South Carolina's Gov. Henry McMaster said according to NBC News. "But we do not want to risk one South Carolinian's life."

"We are not going to gamble with the lives of the people of South Carolina."

President Donald Trump is also issuing a warning to the public on the impending dangers of Hurricane Florence, saying residents to "be prepared, be careful and be safe."

"My people just informed me that this is one of the worst storms to hit the East Coast in many years. Also, looking like a direct hit on North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Please be prepared, be careful and be SAFE!" Trump tweeted.

However, these aren't the only people speaking out on Hurricane Florence.

Pat Robertson, a former Southern Baptist minister who advocates for a conservative Christian ideology, was recorded commanding the potentially deadly hurricane to cease "in the name of Jesus."

"In the name of Jesus!" Robertson shouted, "You Hurricane Florence, the name of Jesus, and we command the storm to cease its forward motion and go harmlessly into the Atlantic. Go up north and away from land and veer off, in the name of Jesus!

We declare in the name of the Lord that you shall go no farther, you shall do no damage in this area," Robertson continued. "We declare a shield of protection all over Tidewater and we declare a shield of protection over those innocent people in the path of this hurricane. In Jesus' holy name, be out to sea!"

Robertson also warned the audience they mustn't have any doubts in their faith to have his "shield of protection" work, but alleges it has granted safety from other hurricanes in the past.

"It's almost hilarious to see them try," he continued. "They try to get in and they can't, and then they go north and they turn around, try to come back in. They can't do it."
