After more than a decade of marital bliss, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have become regarded as one of most beloved couples from the land Down Under.
Although they have homes sprawled out across the country, the proud parents of Sunday Rose, nine, and Faith Margaret, seven, are often forced apart by their demanding careers, they have to take extra measures to maintain their happy marriage.
With their 12th wedding anniversary on June 25, the Big Little Lies star revealed the pair have never texted.
Kidman explained their decision to axe texting from their relationship stems from the likelihood that their words could become misconstrued.
"We've never texted," Kidman said in an interview with Parade Magazine. "We talk all the time and we FaceTime but we just don't text because I feel like texting can be misrepresentative at times. And I've had the thing where I reread texts and I'm like, 'What does that mean?' and then read it to somebody and go 'Can you interpret that?' I don't want that between my lover and I."
"That is so not our relationship, which is interesting right? We call. We've done this since the very beginning," the Moulin Rouge! actress continued. "The reason it started at the beginning was because I didn't know how to text and it just kind of worked for us. So now we don't. We just do voice to voice or skin to skin, as we always say."
Although the "You'll Think Of Me" singer has dealt with his own trials and tribulations in his personal life, the mother-of-four revealed their wedding vows have remained intact based on their ability to have an honest relationship and genuine love for one another.
"Not having secrets. We never tell anybody any advice about their relationship or think that we have a secret. We just approach it with humility and hope and just really love hanging out. I mean it's that simple. We love spending time together. We have a lot of fun together and we just choose each other," the star said.
"If there is one person I can hang out with, it's him and the girls and that's it. That's so much enough for me. We'll get on planes and fly overnight rather than have a night apart. We will do anything to make it work. Jet lag is always a challenge though!" Kidman continued.
