Natalie Wood's Daughter Is Now A Famous Actress Who Looks Just Like Her Mother

Nearly 40 years ago, beloved Hollywood star Natalie Wood vanished from a yacht while on her way to Santa Catalina Island.

Her husband, actor Robert Wagner and her co-star and friend Christopher Walken, were the last two people to see her alive. They were both investigated as suspects after the actress's body washed up ashore a day later.

Many believed that her death was not an accident as she did have a fight with her husband that fateful night.

No arrests were made in connection to Wood's death, but in 2011, the coroner's ruling was changed to "drowning and other undetermined factors," and the cold case was reopened. Wagner was once again considered a person of interest.

With the new developments in the case, those who were in Wood's life, including her children, also got thrust back into the spotlight.

Wood left behind two children, daughters Natasha Gregson Wagner and Courtney Brooke Wagner. She also had a stepdaughter, Katie Wagner.

Natasha was 11 and Courtney was just seven years old when their mother died in 1981. The pair along with their older sister Katie remained with their father and spent some time in Switzerland.

"I think that everything Dad did then -- like not being around this crazed atmosphere in L.A. with the paparazzi -- was a good idea," Courtney said in a 2004 interview with Daily Mail. "It brought us all closer together. And I always had compassion and respect for him for keeping the family together -- it could easily have fallen apart."

Courtney tried to get a break in Hollywood, but the big moment never happened. It was her sister Natasha that got lucky.

Natasha, whose biological father is Richard Gregson, the film producer Wood married briefly, inherited her mother's knack for acting and she took full advantage of it.

Despite maintaining a relatively low profile, Natasha has been steadily working since the early 90s.

She dropped out of the University of Southern California in 1992 to follow in her mother's footsteps. Her debut role was in the film Fathers & Sons, and shortly after, she landed a part in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie.

She went on to appear in multiple made-for-TV movies, including Modern Vampires, The Shaggy Dog, and Hart to Hart alongside her stepfather.

Natasha also had roles in Wes Craven's The Outpost, High School High, Two Girls and a Guy, and Urban Legend. In 1998, she guest-starred in the hit TV show Ally McBeal, and that same year, she appeared with Melanie Griffith and Vincent Kartheiser in Another Day in Paradise.

While many young stars lost their appeal in the new millennium, Natasha's talent and charm only got more impressive. She has had roles in Stranger Than Fiction, High Fidelity, Wonderland, Medium, ER, The 4400, House M.D., and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Her most recent roles were in the film Thirty Nine (2016) and the TV show Date My Dad.

As she's gotten older, many fans of the actress have started to notice that her acting chops aren't the only things her mother passed on to her.

The 47-year-old and Wood also share a strikingly similar resemblance to each other.

The actress has kept herself from publicly discussing Wood's death, but in a 2016 interview with the New York Times, she finally opened up about what it was like to lose her mother at such a young age.

Natasha revealed that she was "in therapy from, like, the minute [Wood] died until I was 30." She added that she "spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I am different from her and how I am similar, to help me have my own individuality."

Natasha, who is now married and a mother-of-one, says she is finally in a "healthier place" and is no longer uncomfortable telling her husband,  Barry Watson, and their daughter, Clover, about Wood.

"Barry seems really excited to hear the stories about my mom, and I hear him say to Clover, "˜Oh yeah, there is a picture of Grandma Natalie!'" Natasha explained.

She described her as "enigmatic and gorgeous and full of charisma and power." She was also "hilarious."

"She was always so funny," Natasha recalled. "She would walk into our house and everything would be better. If she walked into a room and it was sepia, it suddenly became bright colors."

She added, "My mom and my dad were always laughing at each other's jokes. Her laugh was this deep "˜HAHAHA!' She would always say to my dad [Robert]: "˜Oh R J, just stop it! I can't! Just stop it!'"

Another memory of her mother that Natasha still recalls is the way she smelled.

"I knew when she was home because I would smell her perfume," Natasha told The Times. "She would waft through the house...The smell is what I remember, the comfort of the smell."

Wood's favorite perfume was Jungle Gardenia, and she wore it "all her life," so to honor her mother, Natasha launched a gardenia-scented fragrance named Natalie.

Her perfume, which came out in 2016, is "inspired by the story of Natalie Wood's signature scent" and has a floral note as well as accents of freesia, gardenia, neroli, jasmine and musk.
