Sorry ladies, but Jeffrey Dean Morgan is off the market - officially! The actor, who is best known for his roles on shows like Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, and The Walking Dead, secretly married his long-time girlfriend Hilarie Burton, who starred on One Tree Hill and White Collar.
Burton and Morgan have been together since 2009, and welcomed their first child together, Gus, in 2010. In 2018, they welcomed their daughter, George, after Burton opened up about her struggles with infertility. There were a lot of reports that circulated saying the couple was secretly married in 2014, and since they never denied these reports everyone just assumed they were true. However, it turns out they were saving the secret for this year, because Burton and Morgan officially tied the knot on October 5th!
Burton shared the news via her Instagram page on Monday.
This past weekend was the best of my entire life. There are dozens of thank yous I need to make. So bear with me over the next week as I gush over the amazing group of people who gave us this beautiful moment.
But before we do any of that, Jeff and I just want to put it out there that WE GOT MARRIED! For real. We’ve lived as husband and wife for a decade. We’ve built a family, and a farm and found our community. For years, publications have reported that we got married in 2014 or 2015 and that I’ve been married and divorced before.
All untrue.
But WE knew our truth. So it felt silly to try and correct anything. Here’s the God’s honest fact:From the moment I met @jeffreydeanmorgan , he was my husband. Rather than make vows right out of the gate, we lived them. For over ten years. The good times and the bad.Standing up there with our children at our sides - celebrating all that has been - was bliss.I love you Jeffrey. I love our intimate group of friends and family who joined us. I love the various circles of loved ones who have supported us over the years. It was private and magical and everything I dreamed. So yeah. I’m Mrs. Morgan.10.5.19
Morgan also expressed his love on Instagram in two separate posts.
I’d say words... but there aren’t any. Mrs Morgan.... I love you," he wrote. "Thank you for making me the luckiest man in the world. Xojd"
"Ok. A few words," he said in the next post. "It was an intimate ceremony... performed by @jensenackles and @bigbaldhead with our kids at our sides... and the party of the century afterwards... thank you to all our friends and family. It was, without a doubt... the best day of our lives. Ever ever. Just never knew that it could be so damn perfect. It was. And more. Xxxxjd
Sophia Bush, who starred with Burton on One Tree Hill shared a shot of her and her on (and off!) screen best friend.
"My Missy sister is a Mrs WIFE!" she wrote. "It was perfect. Just like them. @hilarieburton + @jeffreydeanmorgan here’s to mischief forever! ✨🖤✨"
Another co-star, Bethany Lenz, shared her wishes as well.
"I couldn’t be happier 💫" she gushed. "Come what may, we’re family for life. My sis got hitched in the BEST WAY. @hilarieburton you were stunning and I wept my way through the night watching you and @jeffreydeanmorgan choose each other forever. Your family & journey is a gift to everyone you meet. CONGRATULATIONS to the coolest brood I’ve ever met. I’m seriously inspired. 💀 🤵🏻 🌹 👰🏻 💀 #mischiefforever 🗝💎⚔️🕯🗺 10.5.19
Colin Fickes, who played Jimmy Edwards in one of the most iconic episodes of One Tree Hill, was also in attendance.
"We witnessed something mighty special Saturday night," he wrote. "Surrounded by a room full of friends & family who love them tremendously, @hilarieburton & @jeffreydeanmorgan showed us all how to love...& how to party. 🧡✨💀"
In an industry where romance seems like it's dead, it's refreshing to see Burton and Morgan going strong, and doing whatever they think is best for their relationship, not the headlines.
