As the weather warms up, talks about having a swimsuit-ready summer body seems to be popping up everywhere. For some women, this may just be another trivial thing that passes over their heads but there are plenty others who feel immense pressure to look a certain way at the beach or pool-side.
This is especially hard for mothers who are trying to bounce back from their pregnancy weight gain or those who struggle to maintain their figure because they're too busy raising their kids.
This is why LA-based comedians/moms, Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley are saying forget about what "they" say you should look like this summer and just have a good time because it's the self-love and fun that's important.
The hilarious duo filmed a video for their I Mom So Hard platform to address this issue and it is the most relatable thing ever. The moms get very candid about baby weight and fitting their "crescent rolls" in tiny pieces of lycra.
"I'm still 12 lbs. heavier than when I had my daughter and she's 4. Can't even call it baby weight anymore, just call it weight," Henley jokes.
The funny moms try on a variety of bathing-suits including some revealing cutout styles and offer their critique. Basically, if you want to be a comfortable mom at the beach, popular swimsuit styles won't cut it especially when compared to men's styles.
"Nothing's going to make you feel worse about your body than the suits they make," Smedley says while rocking a body-baring number.
Just like every mom, Henley and Smedley agree that they want to be good examples for their daughters which is why it's important for them to have body confidence and be comfortable in their own skins.
"I want my daughter to love her life, and to love herself and she's not going to do it because I tell her to do it, she's going to do it because I teach her to do it," Hensley concludes.
Watch the hilarious video below and try not to laugh out loud:
I Swimsuit Season So HardWhen I'm at the beach, I'm there to lifeguard, build sandcastles, supply treats, re-stand the umbrella every dang time it blows over, spray sunscreen, drink a beer, look for seashells, warm-up wet kiddos, force people to eat sandwiches and drink juice, blow up water-wings, and keep my son from publicly urinating. Basically, I've got a really fun job to do and I don't have time to let a piece of lycra throw me off my game. #imomsohard #baywatch #swimsuit #cutouts #doubledecker #brave #moat #onelife #liveit #momlife #reallife #mombod #beach
