It's not easy being a parent. You're responsible for a long list of chores that either your kids can't help you with, or they forget to.
This can be frustrating, especially when you're dealing with lazy kids.
Before you reach a point where your patience wears thin, listen to the advice of a clever mom whose kids have a hard time picking up after themselves.
"F*cket buckets"
Jessica McGinty knows a thing or two about parenting. As a mom of three, her parenting blog discusses many hurdles new parents experience.
While many of these experiences are funny, people have learned a lot from them.
One in particular is her brilliant ideas to get her kids to clean up after themselves.
It's called "f*cket buckets," and she explains how they work on her Facebook page.
"If they leave it laying around, it goes in their bucket. If it's still there at bedtime it goes in the bin because [f*cket] if I'm cleaning it up," she wrote in the photo's caption.
The viral photo was posted on October 5 and already has more than 25,000 shares, and nearly the same amount of comments.
It seems like the idea of throwing away kids' stuff that never gets cleaned up has resonated with a lot of parents...
"I'm investing in these!" someone commented.
"I love it....problem is i would need a huge one," one user joked.
"Love it wish we'd had that idea years ago," another wrote.
"When growing up, my mom had a 'damn it' box. I went to school wearing athletic cleats for a day or so because I "lost" my shoes to the box. It works!!" someone shared about a similar idea.
Some people even think this is a good idea to try with other members of their family.
"Never mind kids I need one of these for you," someone wrote, tagging their significant other.
While many people loved the "f*cket bucket," some people took the idea too seriously.
In my opinion, these cleanup buckets are definitely a good start to establishing an effective cleanup system.
You don't necessarily have to throw your kids' toys and clothes away, but this trick could definitely be a wake up call for them to learn how to take responsibility.
For those parents who just couldn't understand the humor in it, Jessica had a response for them:
"Hey all you new people who don't take life (or parenting) too seriously! Welcome! And to the negative Nancy types who think I'm disrespectful, or not teaching them right, or whatever else. Get over it, have a laugh. You must be fun at parties."
This isn't the first clever mom hack that has recently gone viral...
Thanks to the internet, we're connected to millions of people who have thought of all sorts of clever tricks.
One mom from Texas has thought of a genius way to put her children in a shopping cart without having to strain her back, and people can't believe they haven't thought of this trick sooner!
"While it may seem silly, the comments I've seen from parents who hadn't known about this little trick have really been great. Moms with special needs children who are heavy but need to be in the cart, moms who are in the final stages of pregnancy and have toddlers that can't be left to walk around in the store, and grandparents like my mom who are disabled but love spending time with grandkids in any way that they can," Lauren Castrillo wrote on Love What Matters.
