A star from the hit sitcom Modern Family has announced her character is bisexual.
Sarah Highland, who plays Haley Dunphy, has confirmed one fan's question over her character's sexuality on Twitter.
"I don't know what the writers would say? But I confirm," she tweeted.

While Haley's love life has been a major plot line of the show, Hyland has only had male love interests on all nine seasons of the show, including two on-again/off-again boyfriends, Dylan Marshall and Andy Bailey.
Reid Ewing, who plays Dylan on the show, came out as gay in 2015 after a Twitter exchange with a fan.
However, when it came to Hyland's declaration, the Twitter universe had mixed reactions.

Despite Hyland's claims, neither the show's writers or co-creator Steve Levitan have responded to her declaration, People Magazine reports.
Hyland later clarified her response on her character's sexuality was just speculation based on her own personal opinion.
Just to clarify, Iï¸ havent been told nor is there anything written that would indicate Haley is bisexual. That's just my personal opinion!
