It's been three years since country superstars Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert got divorced, but that doesn't mean the former couple's drama is over.
Especially since one of them won't let go.
In Lambert's latest single for her girl group Pistol Annies, it seems the songstress has reignited her feud with her ex-husband after singing about ending their tumultuous marriage.
"It was a feel-good divorce song that was needed."
In the upbeat music video, the 34-year-old sings about reclaiming her life as a single woman alongside bandmates Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe.
Lambert is seen strutting into a courthouse and takes the witness stand, and addresses the red tape of becoming her own person again.
"It takes a judge to get married, takes a judge to get divorced / Well the last couple years, spent a lotta time in court / Got my name changed back," Lambert sings.
"Well I wanted somethin' new, then I wanted what I had / I got my name changed back."
Lambert also took aim at the "God Gave Me You" singer for the rumors of his infidelity during their marriage.
"Well I've got me an ex that I adored / But he got along good with a couple road whores / Got my name changed back."
Following Lambert's testimony in the video, they all celebrate with popping open a bottle of champagne and celebrating her newfound freedom.
When asked about the meaning behind the song, the girl group didn't reveal the inspiration behind the song, but said they have two ex-husbands between them.
"It was a feel-good divorce song that was needed," Presley told The Associated Press. "You're welcome."
"We can say whatever we want together a little more bravely than we ever would alone," Lambert added. "Our whole catalog has been about celebrating things that weren't so positive and putting them in a humorous light."
But, Shelton isn't innocent when it comes to writing disparaging music about his ex either.
"You want people to sympathize with you. I was at rock bottom, in the middle of hell."
In 2016, the country crooner released a song called "She's Got a Way With Words," which includes lyrics such as, "She put the her in hurt / She put the why in try / She put the S.O.B. in sober / She put the hang in hangover."
Shelton's fans had a hunch on who had inspired his hit single on a past love who lied and cheated, and in an interview with Billboard, he confirmed it was about Lambert.
"When you have a broken heart "“ at least, when I do "“ you got to get it out of your system," he said. "You want people to sympathize with you. I was at rock bottom, in the middle of hell."
Since their acrimonious divorce, Shelton has been in a relationship with his fellow The Voice judge Gwen Stefani, while Lambert has been linked to a few of her fellow country stars, most recently being Turnpike Troubadours frontman, Evan Felker, who she ultimately broke up with this summer.
