How do you take a perfect treat and make it even better? Add. Mini. Eggs. Cadbury hit a home run with their candy coated, milk chocolate eggs and we've elevated a simple crack recipe by adding them as a topping.
If you've never had candy crack it's a salty, sweet caramel treat with a crunchy texture. The best part is that it only takes a few minutes to prepare. A lot of people make it around the holidays and the addition of Cadbury Mini Eggs makes it the ideal treat for Spring.
Easy Mini Egg Crack
Ingredients
- saltine crackers (about 40)
- 3/4 cup of brown sugar
- 3/4 cup of butter
- White chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup of yellow candy melts
- 1/2 pink candy melts
- 1/2 cup blue candy melts
- 3/4 cups of mini eggs
- sprinkles of your choice
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Line the bottom of your baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray it with non-stick cooking spray. Lay your saltine crackers across the sheet and set aside.
Melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat and bring it to a boil, stirring the entire time. Pour this mixture over the baking sheet carefully so that the crackers don't move around. Spread the mixture with a spatula to coat the crackers. Bake for 8 minutes, remove and turn off the oven.
Sprinkle your white chocolate chips over the hot toffee layer to melt. You can speed up the process by popping the pan back in the warm over for a minute or two.
melt the candy melts in the microwave. (45 seconds to a minute is generally a good amount of time.) Drizzle the colors across the pan over top of the chocolate. Next use a spatula to spread the toppings and create a colorful pattern.
Time for your toppings! Sprinkle on your crushed up Mini Eggs and add your sprinkles for some color. You'll want to press down your Mini Eggs a bit and set the pan in the fridge to cool.
One the crack has set, break it up and serve it. You can store this in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to a month.
