Miley Cyrus is having a rough month. The singer and actress split from her husband of 7 months and partner of almost 10 years, Liam Hemsworth, and it really came out of the blue. Just days later Cyrus was seen making out with another woman while on a vacation with her in Italy. It spurred up a lot of rumors about why her marriage came to and end, and a lot of questions about cheating were brought up
At first people thought maybe Hemsworth cheated, but then it was rumored that Cyrus was the one who cheated. When Hemsworth filed for divorce, that only added fuel to the fire.
“She didn’t expect it and is a bit disappointed, but she is still doing well and has obviously moved on as well,” a Cyrus insider told PEOPLE about Hemsworth filing. The reason for divorce is apparently cited as "irreconcilable differences."
Despite having moved on, sources say that Cyrus is still hurt about the breakup.
“What she and Liam had for a long time was very special,” the Cyrus insider said. “It’s just hard for her to think that she will never have this again with Liam. There are really so many things that she loves about him.”
Neither Hemsworth or Cyrus have really spoken about their split, although Hemsworth did post a short message about it on Instagram.
"Hi all Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward," he wrote. "This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love."
However, it seems like the rumors about infidelity really hit Cyrus hard, because went on a long Twitter rant about the breakup and how she's changed as a person.
I can accept that the life I've chosen means I must live completely open and transparent with my fans who I love, and the public, 100% of the time. What I cannot accept is being told I'm lying to cover up a crime I haven't committed. I have nothing to hide.
It is no secret that I was into partying in my teens and early 20s. I have not only smoked, but advocated for weed, I've experimented with drugs, my biggest song to date is about dancing on molly and snorting lines in the bathroom.
I f***ed up and cheated in relationships when I was young. I lost a massive Walmart deal at 17 for ripping a bong. I got kicked off 'Hotel Transylvania' for buying Liam a penis cake for his birthday and licking it. I swung on a wrecking ball naked. There are probably more nudes of me on the internet than maybe any woman in history.
But the truth is, once Liam & I reconciled, I meant it, & I was committed. There are NO secrets to uncover here. I've learned from every experience in my life. I'm not perfect, I don't want to be, it's boring. I've grown up in front of you, but the bottom line is, I HAVE GROWN UP.
I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I've said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.
BUT at this point I had to make a healthy decision for myself to leave a previous life behind. I am the healthiest and happiest I have been in a long time. You can say I am a twerking, pot smoking, foul mouthed hillbilly but I am not a liar. I am proud to say, I am simply in a different place from where I was when I was younger.
Considering how quiet the split has been, this was a pretty shocking thing to see. Cleary Cyrus didn't appreciate being accused of cheating, but even still...don't celebrities get accused of things all the time? Why bother responding to all the negativity? As long as you know what's true, that's all that matters, in my opinion.
