After a decade of romance, break-ups, drama, loss, and sweet reunions, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have started a new chapter of their lives as husband and wife.
Surrounded by their closest friends and family, including Miley's dad Billy Ray Cyrus, the couple got married just before Christmas in a small, private ceremony at their home in Franklin, Tennessee.
Miley and Liam first met in 2009 while filming the movie adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks book The Last Song. After a few years of dating, the couple got engaged in 2012, but called it off a year later.
"[I] needed to change so much. And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard," Miley recently told Billboard. "Suddenly you're like, 'I don't recognize you anymore.' We had to refall for each other."
The pair remained apart for at least another three years. In 2016, while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Miley confirmed that she and the Australian actor were back together and engaged.
Still, Miley was not ready to tie the knot for a while, according to a September 2017 interview with The Sun on Sunday.
"I don't envision marriage. I'm 24. I hope I get to live a little bit more," she told the paper. "I have too much living to do [before I get married]."
Now, it looks like a lot has changed in just a year for the "Party in the USA" singer and her beau.
After rumors and alleged photos from their nuptials surfaced online this week, the "Malibu" singer confirmed the happy news on social media. She shared a series of Instagram posts, including a picture of herself and Liam hugging during the ceremony.
"10 years later...," she captioned the black-and-white snap.
Despite the casual theme, the 26-year-old singer kept it classy in white, silky Vivienne Westwood gown. As for the groom, he opted for a black suit and black tie, but swapped the dress shoes for white Vans sneakers.
Although not many details about their big day has been revealed, Miley shared a video of herself dancing to the Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars hit "Uptown Funk" on their wedding night. Liam was tasked with recording, but he managed to make a quick cameo in the candid clip.

Sparks, whose tear-jerking romantic story brought the couple together, took to Twitter to express his happiness over Miley and Liam's marriage.
"This makes me so happy," he wrote. "Congratulations @MileyCyrus and @LiamHemsworth. #TheLastSong."
2018 is a year that Miley and Liam will definitely never forget. Despite all the ups and downs, including losing their Malibu home to the California wildfires, the couple's love for each other trumped everything else.
