Limited Edition Mickey Mouse Oreos Are On Their Way

Delish/Disney

Is there a better cookie to pair with a cold glass of milk than Oreos? They're sturdy enough to hold the milk and don't get soggy with you dunk them.

And if you don't want to dunk them, then you can still enjoy an amazing cookie. It really is perfect.

Over the years, Oreo has introduced a bunch of new flavors for everyone to enjoy. These are some of the highlights:

  • Blueberry Pie
  • Cinnamon Hearts
  • Swedish Fish
  • Peeps
  • Cotton Candy
  • Chocolate Hazelnut

Some of these flavors disappeared after a few months, but they will forever remain in our hearts.

Oreo has also released cookies with different designs on the wafer part:

Like Olympic Oreos:

Nabisco
Target

Peeps Oreos:

And even NHL Stanley Cup Oreos:

But now, they're combing both a fan-favorite flavor and an iconic cartoon character to bring us the best cookie they've ever produced!

Instagram user JunkFoodMom posted a picture of the new flavor, saying:

Yep these are real... Limited Edition Happy Birthday Mickey Oreos. Good ole Mickey turns 90 this year and doesn't look a day over 21. Birthday cake flavored cream and 3 Mickey designs on the cookie itself. Brought to our attention months ago by @markie_devo and sitting beautifully now in a showcase at the @sweets_and_snacks_expo . I'm not sure if the official release date.

The new cookie will be birthday cake flavored, and there will be three different Mickey Mouse designs on the cookies! It's not the first time Mickey has found himself collaborating with a snack food, either.

Mickey Mouse Goldfish crackers surfaced at Target this year, with both fish and Mickey shapes.

With these new, likely limited, snacks, I got to thinking about some of the snacks from the past that have been discontinued. There were some really great ones that I'd love to see back, and some....well some that deserved the ax.

Pop-Tarts Crunch

Kellogg's

That's right, if you've ever wanted to crush up your Pop-Tarts and eat them as cereal, Kellogg's had the solution for you in the 90s. The cereal was basically mini pastries, and came in both Frosted Starwberry and Brown Sugar Cinnamon flavors.

It didn't last long, but this cereal is one of the best in history.

Hershey's Bar None

Retroland

Get it? It's better than everything else, bar none? Listen, it was pretty good for 1987. And honestly, Hershey's wasn't wrong.

It was chocolate wafers filled with chocolate cream, covered in crushed peanuts, then covered in chocolate. How could you possibly go wrong? Well, they did. In 1992, Hershey's decided to add caramel to the Bar None, and split it into two separate bars. It was a poor attempt at competing with Twix, and by 1997 they were completely gone from shelves.

Koogle

Okay, so I wasn't around for this. But I've heard nothing but good things about the peanut butter spread. It came in four different flavors: chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, and banana. It was first introduced in 1971 and was basically a glorified peanut butter with a way smoother texture.

Apparently people at the time didn't love it as much as I assume I would, and it was pulled from the shelves in the mid 70s. RIP.

Keebler Tato Skins

Meijer

There are rumors that these potato chips still exist at some stores in eh United States, but I'll believe that when I see it. Similar to the potato skin chips that T.G.I. Fridays has, they were fashioned after a baked potato, with one side of the chip being darker than the other, just like a potato skin!

They were available in the late 90s, and came in flavors like steak and potatoes, sour cream and chives, and baked potato. Delicious.

Cookies n Creme Twix

YouTube

This may sound basic, but it is so, so good. At a time when Twix was being adventurous by having a ton of flavors, their most underrated one was the cookies n creme. Yes, triple chocolate and chocolate and chocolate fudge were good, but this was basically a long Oreo.

Sadly, it was only a round for a few years in the early 90s before disappearing into oblivion.

WWF Ice Cream Bars

Nostalgia King

Yeah, these can stay in the past.

What's a treat you'd like to see make a return?
