Congratulations are in order for Meghan McCain and her new fiancé, Ben Domenech!
The View co-host is the daughter of GOP Senator John McCain, who was diagnosed with brain cancer earlier this year.
On Oct. 23, her father made a guest appearance, where he was asked if he approved of his daughter's then-boyfriend.
"He's a jerk," the senator joked, prompting Meghan to squeal Domenech was "going to kill me!"
"Actually, he's a very fine man," he clarified. "I'm very proud and very happy that they're so happy together."
In November 2016, McCain had announced she had independent conservative candidate Evan McMullin for president. She recently lashed out over a report stating President Donald Trump had physically mocked her father behind closed doors. It's claimed he was imitating the senator's "thumbs down" gesture he made on the senate floor.
The elder McCain had been diagnosed with glioblastoma - a type of brain cancer - earlier this year and cannot lift his arms above his shoulders due to injuries he sustained as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.
"What more must my family be put through right now? This is abhorrent," she tweeted.
While the 33-year-old form Fox News host has been quiet about her partner, Domenech, 35, confirmed he was the mystery man after retweeting a story about the couple's engagement by Page Six. He captioned it, "Love you bae."
Since early 2016, McCain has made several references her beau on Instagram, but had never tagged him or included his name.
McCain formally announced her engagement today on The View, telling her fellow co-hosts the couple decided to wed when her father underwent treatment at the Mayo Clinic. She also admitted she hoped her upcoming nuptials would have been kept a secret.
"We've been together for years. And we have been engaged for a while," she said. "It was a secret. I was hoping to get married and people wouldn't find out, but people talk sometimes and I love him very much and I'm very happy."
How do you feel about the power couple's recent engagement?
