Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have embarked on their first royal tour this week, and through their engagements, we have been able to get to know them better as individuals as well as a couple.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who recently announced that they're expecting their first child next spring, have expressed their excitement about having a baby, and through their interaction with the kids and youth of Australia, it's clear that they're going to be doting parents.
The couple were welcomed to different parts of the country with open arms (literally), and have had the chance to share a few heartwarming moments with many locals, especially the children.
Meghan and Harry even broke protocol to hug a young boy named Luke while in Dubbo, New South Wales.
The five-year-old couldn't get enough of Harry's beard and hair, so he was filmed rubbing the royal's facial hair before going in to hug him and his wife.
But this wasn't the only sweet encounter the couple had this week.
Since arriving in Australia, they have been showered with gifts, including stuffed animals for their upcoming baby, flowers, and tiaras.
However, one of the gifts Meghan received has stood out from rest.
While in Melbourne, six-year-old Gavin Hazelwood, who dressed up in a Qantas pilot uniform, presented the duchess with a handmade pasta necklace.
"Gavin woke up 'with a cough' so had to stay home from school today. He whipped together a necklace for Meghan, painted it gold and hopes to give it to her soon," journalist Rohan Smith shared on Twitter.
Meghan thought the gesture was incredibly sweet, and without hesitation, she wore the gold-painted necklace over her Dion Lee navy dress until she made it to the Government House for a formal reception. She even took several photos with the bauble around her neck.
The duchess is known for wearing jewelry that have sentimental meaning behind them. For instance, a few days ago, she was spotted wearing a pair of butterfly earrings that belonged to Harry's mother, the late Princess Diana.
By wearing Gavin's pasta necklace, Meghan was able to show how much she appreciates and values her fans.
We can't wait to see what else Meghan and Harry have in store for us during their tour. After Australia, the couple will visit New Zealand, Fiji, and the Kingdom of Tonga.
