If you're getting a little tired of ordering a fruit smoothie or iced coffee from McDonald's, it might be time to switch things up a bit. Thanks to spring inspiration, McDonald's has launched a limited-edition cherry blossom float, and it's just as pink and delicious as you imagine.
McFlloat Sakuranbo or sakura float is made with Satonishiki, or cherry juice, and has a gradual pink color fade to the top of the fizzy drink. A dollop of vanilla ice cream is swirled on the top, and there you have it: a sweet, light, and bubbly beverage to sip while walking among the blooming cherry blossoms.
The one catch? You can only get it in Japan.
So...if you don't have a plane ticket to Japan on hand, you're out of luck for now. BUT, don't lose hope! If the drink is popular in Japan and there's a demand for it here, you might see it in the near future.
While you're at it, keep your eye on Starbucks. Last year, they released a cherry blossom frappuccino in the US, and you don't want to miss it again. While they haven't released the drink again this year, you never know when it will be available!
