Mama June had a great comeback story, when she lost a whopping 300lbs and finally felt good about herself. The reality TV star worked hard to get where she was, and it seemed like things were going well. However, things have taken a drastic turn for Mama June, whose real name is June Shannon, and it can all be traced back to an arrest in Alabama in March.
Mama June and her boyfriend, Geno Doak, were arrested in Alabama after cops were called to deal with a domestic violence incident between the two at a gas station. When police arrived, Mama June was apparently in a "manic" state, and police proceeded to pat down her and Doak. Doak told police not to reach into his pocket because "I don't want you to get sticked or nothing." A needle was found in his pocket, and then the attention turned to Mama June.
Doak was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, as well as domestic violence. Mama June was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Both were released from custody and are awaiting sentencing.
Then, just days after getting arrested, Mama June and Doak were seen together again at the slot machines at a casino in Alabama. Clearly whatever happened between the two wasn't bad enough to keep them apart, but Mama June didn't look good in the footage obtained by TMZ. June was very zoned out, and it was clear that she's been using drugs, even if she wasn't on them at the time.
Now, in the most recent trailer for her show From Hot To Not, it's clear that Mama June is doing far worse than anyone expected. The clip is from two months after she was arrested and the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star has fallen down a bad route. She's confronted by her family as part of an intervention, and her 13-year-old daughter, Honey Boo Boo, otherwise known as Alana Thompson, is clearly distraught.
"Do you not understand that I am staying with my sister and that's not by choice?" Alana cries.
June, through rotting and broken teeth, replies "Yes it is."
"It's not my choice!" Alana cries again.
The sight of Mama June's teeth is really sad, because she spent thousands of dollars a few years ago, and now they're completely ruined. As Mama June tries to leave the house, someone tries to stop here.
"If you don't let me go, I'll f**king call the police," she yells.
"If this intervention doesn't work, she's either gonna wind up in jail or she's gonna die," a family member says in a voice over.
"She's looking at real time," Mama June's sister, Joanne, points out. "They're either gonna let the charges go or her ass is gonna go to prison."
"I f**king hate myself, I want to f**ing kill the person I am now," Mama June cries at the end of the clip.
It's very unsettling to hear her speak like this, especially after reports that she's currently living at an Alabama casino. According to TMZ, the TLC star has been staying at a hotel room at the Wind Creek casino along with Doak. She's reportedly been staying there for months. All she does is gamble.
To make matters even worse, Mama June and Doak's lawyer, George B. Bulls II, has requested to be taken off their felony drug charges case, because apparently the duo won't even speak to him. He says he's tried to contact Mama June and Doak several times, but they've "failed to comply" with the attorney/client agreement that was in place.
To see Mama June go from low, to high, to extremely low once again is really just heartbreaking, especially when you think of 13-year-old Alana who is living in her 19-year-old sister's custody. I hope that for the sake of Alana, and for Mama June herself, that things get straightened out soon.
