This week, Dancing With The Stars opened by dedicating the show to those affected by the Las Vegas shooting, and then co-host Erin Andrews made a big announcement to the audience.
"Maks is dealing with a personal issue so Alan is stepping in and dancing with Vanessa tonight," she said. Alan is a professional dancer who was eliminated the previous week.
However, sources told PEOPLE magazine that it's much more than a 'personal issue.'
"There's a big chemistry issue," the insider says. "They both have big personalities and that's not always the best recipe for a good partnership. They've been fighting a lot."
"I wouldn't be surprised if Maks doesn't return as her partner for the rest of the season," the insider continued.
Neither Vanessa nor Maks confirmed this rumor, but after the way things have gone with Maks in the past, it wasn't out of character.
Now, the professional dancer has spoken out on the alleged feud with his DWTS partner.
On Wednesday morning, Maks took to Twitter to address the rumors around his departure.
"Maks and Vanessa are a team and completely support each other 100 percent," and insider says. "They are so friendly backstage and are great to work with. You can tell they are genuinely enjoying themselves and are here to have a good time."
"I just know that when I'm on set he's my coach and I'm the student, so I listen a lot more and I don't speak up as much because this is a field I don't know. He's trained me and taught me so many amazing wonderful new things just like any trainer would or teacher would. But at home I think I'm a lot more outspoken!" Vanessa said.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the show plays out, and if there are any more outbursts from either partner.
